Microsoft Office Online released several Outlook email templates and signature samples in a “5 Minute Makeover” series. You can use the samples for your mailings or as a base for your own designs. Videos showing how to re-create the templates are also available.
This series of templates was designed in Outlook 2010 but should work and look correct when sent from Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 (with Word as the editor). They may do ok in older versions, although some design features may not be supported.
The emails created with these templates should look good when received by any email client, however they are affected by “the template bug” which affects SMTP users and was fixed by the July 11 2011 hotfix for Outlook 2010.
