Save a message thread in one text file by selecting the messages then File, Save As. Your messages are saved to one text file with a short header (To, From, Sent, Subject) and the message body.
To keep a thread in a specific order, select the messages (use ctrl+click) in the order you want them in the text file.
Only message text is saved, not attachments and not HTML formatting.
