Outlook 2002 SP3 and Security Warnings

Office XP SP3 was released yesterday and it didn't take long to find a problem with Outlook. Because the security level is more inline with Outlook 2003, you may see the "a program is accessing your address book.... " warning when you use older versions of some add-ins, especially anti-spam add-ins.

Since most, if not all, add-ins were updated for Outlook 2003, the most current version of the add-in should eliminate the warning. Disabling Word may be necessary if you have the most recent version of the add-in.

As new information on Outlook 2002 SP3 becomes available, it will be posted at http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2002sp3.htm

Developers can stay updated by visiting http://www.outlookcode.com/d/ol2002problems.htm and http://www.outlookcode.com/d/index.htm

If you find an add-in that still doesn't play nice, let me know at tips@outlook-tips.net .
