Tip 151: Mouse Scrolling

After getting a new mouse, using a different computer, or watching someone else work, you may notice their mouse has different scroll behavior in Outlook than yours. This is most often because one of the mice is from Logitech. For some reason, the Logitech drivers don’t support the “Office scroll” which allows you to scroll the message lists or reading/preview pane.

You can use the default Windows mouse drivers with Logitech mice if you want, but you’ll lose the special features the mouse offers. You can enable the Office 97 scroll features in the mouse’s settings, but may have different scrolling behavior in other windows.

You may see this behavior with other non-Microsoft mice brands if they use custom drivers.
