Tip 228: Problems Sending Email?

Do you have problems sending email? Did you recently install updates for Outlook, windows, or a firewall?  If so, you need to check that your firewall software is not preventing Outlook from connecting to the Internet. If you use Antivirus software to scan outgoing email, verify it’s not blocked as well, or better yet, disable that feature as you really don’t need it.

It’s probably stuck read receipts. See http://www.outlook-tips.net/2011/1215/delete-read-receipts-using-mfcmapi/ for the steps to delete them.

Thanks for you site and introducing me to MPCMAPI. It fixed a nagging problem with stuck read receipts. Are there GOOD utilities to remove duplicate e-mails for Outlook 2010.
    Thanks JPB

You’re Welcome. There is a long list of duplicate remover tools here – Duplicate remover tools The ones at the top are good and all work with outlook 2010, but most of the ones on the page should work good with 2010. The last two are free but haven’t been updated in years. They should work in outlook 2010 32bit.
