This seemingly obvious query comes up quite frequently:
When you add an address to your blocked list does the sender receive any notification that this has been done next time they send you a message?
No. Outlook just moves it to the junk email folder.
Surprisingly, many people want Outlook to notify the sender that their message was disposed of unseen. I'm not sure why, as it only serves to validate your address to spammers, assuming they use a valid return address. If the address is not that of the spammer, you're only increasing the number of useless messages handled by email servers and may get an NDR back, which you have to delete.
If you are blocking the email of someone specific and want them to know you aren't reading their mail, you can set up a rule to delete their message and return an autoreply.
