Tip 413: Send Page by Email

Jacques asks:

I use Internet Explorer.

When I click on:        Page, Send Page by Email…
It opens an Outlook message including the selected page as an attached file in html format.

Is there any possibility to have the Internet page directly included into the Outlook mail, not as an attachment? The goal is for the reader to open the Outlook mail and to be able to see directly de sent Internet page without having to open any attached file.

I am sure that it is possible, but I can not find the right setup to do it.

Of course it’s possible. You need to have Outlook set to use HTML formatting as default in Tools, Options, Mail format for it to insert the page as HTML. When you use Plain text formatting, it will always attach it.

Note that not all pages will look good in email and some elements may not be supported (such as complex tables and some css formatting).

What do you need more information about?
What version of Outlook do you use?
