Tip 882: Outlook 2010 default reminder time bug (Fixed)

This bug is fixed in Outlook 2010 SP1 Outlook 2010 SP1

I thought I posted this bug a long time ago but search doesn’t bring it up, so here goes. If it’s really a duplicate, sorry. :)

When users attempt to change the Calendar’s Default reminder from 15 minutes to a value of 1 day or more, the new value isn’t saved. It works correctly if the reminder time is under 1 day, but anyone who needs a reminder time of 1 day or more will need to edit the registry and create (or edit) the following registry key and value:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar
DWORD: RemindDefault
Enter the minutes you want to use for the reminder ie, 1440 Decimal equals 1 day.

When in a contact file, I want to add a reminder.

The default time is 9pm and I can’t fins a way to change it….

This is a different issue than default reminder for an event or clander it

    Thanks

What is your workday end time in options, calendar options? What day is the quick flag set for? (Ie, when you click Follow up > Add reminder, is the start day today or tomorrow (or some future date). The reminder is based on the work day end if the quick flag is set on today; if its set for tomorrow or later, the reminder is either the start of the workday or the reminder time.
See Tip 730: Custom Flags and Reminder Times
    for more information.
