Do you know the difference between the Day/Week/Month view and the Day/Week/Month with autopreview view?
When you have appointments containing notes and use the standard Day/Week/Month view, you won't see the notes on the appointment in the day and week views.
When you use the Day/Week/Month view with Preview (called just "Preview" in Outlook 2010) you can see the notes (up to 248 characters), as space permits. To see more, you either need a shorter time scale – for example, use the 15 min scale instead of 1 hour, otherwise you will only see the text that fits in the appointment period. In this screenshot, both appointments have the same content in their Notes but the appointment that is only an hour long shows less of the text. (Using the 1 hour scale, none of the Notes text will show in the hour long appointment.)
When you use the Preview, you can see some of the note field in a popup when you hover over the appointment. This preview is limited to the first 248 characters in the note field.
If you want to read the full notes without opening the appointment, use the Reading pane.
