Tip 995: Copying Outlook's Voting Results

This question came in this week:

We sent a message requiring everyone to vote. Now that everyone has voted, how do we post the results in an email to everyone?

Well, there is always screenprint… fortunately you won't need it to share voting results. The responses are tallied at the top of the Tracking page and the table can be copied. You can select a single row, the entire table, or selected rows (using Ctrl+Click).

Copy the results from an Outlook voting message

You'll need to use Ctrl+C to copy the selection and can paste it into any application that accepts pasted text.

The result will paste in a tabular format like this (one account hasn't responded yet):

drcp@domain.comApprove: 6/6/2012 8:50 PM

Outlook TipsReject: 6/7/2012 10:39 AM
Diane PoremskyApprove: 6/6/2012 8:39 PM

The vote totals are tallied at the top of the Tracking page (and are not copyable) but if you want to sort the results, you can paste it into Excel.
