Tip 627: More on Calendar Shortcuts

Before I get into today’s tip, a reminder – there is a spam making the rounds with the subject “Outlook Setup Notification” – this is a phishing attempt to get your email account information. Don’t fall for it. :)

To clarify yesterday’s tip:
“You can Ctrl+ click on dates in the navigation calendar and select up to 14 days. The Next month arrows will move the first selection to the day after the last (i.e., select 11, 20, 29 and Next Month will move the selection 30, 9, 18)”

The Next Month button refers to the buttons on the calendar in Outlook 2007 – not the arrows on the navigation calendars.

This tip also works only in Outlook 2007:
Click and drag across a few dates and the Next month moves you ahead by that many days – for example, select 1,2,3 and Next month button moves you to 4,5, 6. (Use the arrow keys to move to 2,3,4.).

Another shortcut that works in all versions of Outlook – the Home, End, PgUp and PgDown keys.  In the day or week views, Home and End take you to the start or end of your work day while PgUp goes to 12AM and PgDown to 11PM. In the month view, Home and End go to the first and last day of the currently selected week while PgUp and PgDown go to the previous and next months.
