A common problem with Outlook’s calendar: “Jan 2010 spans 6 weeks but there is not sufficient room to display the appointments. If I view Dec 2009 and use the scroll bar at the left of calendar I can see 5 weeks at a time.”
Questions like this come up a lot and I think I put out a tip each time a month covers 6 weeks.
Your January covers 6 weeks because you have Outlook set to start the week on Sunday. While you could fix this by changing the calendar to start on Sunday when the month begins on Sunday and to start on Monday when the month ends on Sunday, it’s really not a workable solution.
In Outlook 2003 and earlier: use compressed weekends if you want to see every day on the screen. You can also see all 6 weeks if you select them in the navigation calendar. (View a Two Week Calendar)
Outlook 2007 will (usually) correctly redraw the screen if you have the latest updates installed and use the forward/backward buttons beside the month name at the top of the calendar. Scrolling will maintain the weeks in the current view.
The exception to using the buttons to advance full months: when you have 2 months in the view (two month names beside the buttons) the buttons will move the calendar ahead by weeks, not full months.
