Tip 378: Delete Outlook Folders Easily

Do you have several folders in Outlook you need deleted but it’s taking “forever” because Outlook makes you delete one at a time? It’s much faster if you drag the folders to the Deleted Items folder or even to one of the folders that needs deleted (creating subfolders), then empty the Deleted Items folder or delete the remaining folder and the subfolders with one prompt.

Are they folders within a data file or separate data files in your profile?
What happens when you move one to the recycle bin?

If they are two pst files in your profile, close Outlook and go to Control panel. Search for Mail and open it. Open the profile and remove the one set of archive folders from your profile.

If you only have one set in the profile, the second set is a ghost. See delete ghost psts for instructions.
