Tip 888: Stop accidentally dragging folders in Outlook

This tip comes from Steve “The Gnarley”, in response to a question / complaint about how easy it is to accidentally drag and drop folders in Outlook then not know where they went.

“The method I found was to change a setting on the Mouse… Control Panel > Mouse > Mouse Properties > Buttons Tab > ClickLock Group > Turn on ClickLock. My Firm’s default is unchecked.

The ClickLock feature will allow your selection to be highlighted. It allows for clicking and dragging, but, the item that was selected cannot be “released” until you click again. “

Thanks Steve!

(If your mouse driver doesn’t have click lock, use the generic Microsoft mouse drivers.)
