Tip 1119: Mark Outlook Tasks Complete in Task Peek

In Outlook 2010 I could right-click on a Task in the To-Do Bar and select Mark Complete to complete a task. When I try this in Outlook 2013, the options are: Copy, Quick Print, Reply, Reply All, Forward, Assign Task, Rename Task, Categorize, Follow Up, OneNote, Delete. Am I missing something or is this option no longer available?

I'm going to assume you know that Follow Up will expand to show you the Mark complete option in either the Peek or the Task list, but you want to cut out the step of expanding Follow Up.

Choose Follow up to see the flag options

To go directly to the Follow Up options, right-click on the flag itself, not the task. When the Flag is on a message or task in a pst file or Exchange mailbox, you'll have the full menu (shown here). When it's in an IMAP data file, the choices will be Flag, Mark Complete, or Clear.

click on the flag to see the flag menu

If you are using categories, right click on the Category block to see the Categories menu.
