Tip 107: Outlook 2002 SP3 and Security Warnings

Office XP SP3 was released yesterday and it didn't take long to find a problem with Outlook. Because the security level is more inline with Outlook 2003, you may see the "a program is accessing your address book…. " warning when you use older versions of some add-ins, especially anti-spam add-ins.

Since most, if not all, add-ins were updated for Outlook 2003, the most current version of the add-in should eliminate the warning. Disabling Word may be necessary if you have the most recent version of the add-in.

As new information on Outlook 2002 SP3 becomes available, it will be posted at Microsoft Office XP (Outlook 2002) Service Pack 3

Developers can stay updated by visiting Microsoft Outlook 2002 Problems for Developers (OutlookCode.com).
