Tip 495: Changing Calendars

An Outlook 2007 user has this problem: She is logged in to the workstation and Outlook and connects to User B's shared calendar. She returns to her mail and goes back to calendar and creates a new appointment. But unless she actually selects her calendar, its added User B’s calendar. How does she fix this so it always goes to her calendar?

The solution: Appointments are added to the selected calendar –this calendar is named at the bottom of the calendar form but can't be changed from the appointment form. The user has two options: make sure her calendar is the calendar in focus before creating the item or select the Office orb, Move to… Other Folder to move it to the correct calendar after the appointment is ready to save.
