Tip 499: Windows Easy Transfer

If you are thinking about using Windows Easy Transfer to quickly and easily move program settings to your new computer, think again if you plan to use it to move your Outlook account configuration. More often than not you’ll end up with a corrupt profile and will need to make a new profile.

If you forgo the easy transfer wizard, you can move the *.pst, *.nk2 and other support files yourself. The file locations are listed here: http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/filepath.htm
