Tip 312: Can’t Print?

Having problems printing from Outlook? Try deleting the OutlPrnt file - it's in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook in Windows XP. This file holds information about print configurations and customizations.

Update: In Windows 7 and 8, or Vista, outlprnt is at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook.

You can "jump to" the folder where Outlptnt is by pasting the following line in the address bar of Windows Explorer and pressing enter:

%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

I would LOVE to print emails from Outlook. For the last 20 years I have used Outlook for emails, pretty much any non-specialized office does, but when I want to print an email, I have to resort to screen captures and stuff. Why is there STILL no way to do something as shockingly trivial as PRINTING A DAMN EMAIL from 20 year old technology? Has anyone else ever wondered this? Microsoft formatting is still, 20 years later, a complete joke.

What version of Outlook do you use and what is wrong with how it prints?

What is wrong is the button is greyed out in outlook 2010. This is ridiculous. I have performed all the “troubleshooting” steps, reinstall printer, repair office, delete the damn outlprnt. Nada. still can’t print to any printer not even the xps writer.
