Tip 891: Move a series of appointments to new dates

It is possible to move (or copy) a series of appointments to new dates and maintain the series pattern.

While in the Calendar Month view, carefully select the appointments, holding Ctrl as you make the selections, then right-click and drag the selection to date navigator calendar. You need to drop the appointments on the date the last selected appointment should be moved to. Outlook will move all of the appointments to new dates, using the same pattern. If the selection was for Monday and Thursday of this week and Wednesday of next week, and you dropped the Wednesday appointment on a Friday, the new dates will be Wednesday (the former Monday appt) and Saturday the week before the new Friday appointment.

You need all of the appointments visible on the screen to do this. (If it's possible to scroll and pick up more appointments and not drop the selected appointments, I haven't figured out how.) Also, before selecting the appointments, adjust the date navigator so the date you want to move the last selected appointment to is visible.

I can select about 5 or 6 appointments at most; more and I tend to drop the previous selections. I blame the touchpad on my laptop; mouse users may be able to select more.
