As the result of a thread in the Microsoft Answers forum that is starting to get nasty, I created a poll to gauge how many people really use Outlook's Journal – a very small (but passionate!) subset of users as Microsoft believes, or a larger minority of users.
You can vote here: Do you use Outlook's Journal?
If nothing else, it will be a good insight into how many use Journal and between the Answers thread and the poll, might convince Microsoft to take another look at the problem. Most Journal complaints are about Activities search not working. (I'd like the People pane to search all of Outlook.)
As with all polls we offer, everyone can vote but only registered members can comment. (Registration is free and easy. :))

I realised belatedly my new work computer has Onenote. Previously I was using Journal almost exclusively to take minutes of meeting Thinking back the only reason I do this is because of the clock!. L
Yeah, onenote doesn't have a timer - you can insert the time when you start and when you stop (Insert ribbon or Shift+Alt+T) but need to calculate the duration yourself (and remember to insert the times).
